Part Time Dietary Aide

Able2 is currently seeking a part time dietary aide for our Elmira location. The pay range for this position is from $10.00/hr to $11.26/hr depending on experience.  As a dietary aide you would be responsible for the following:


  • Prepares and cooks all food items based on daily menu.
  • Assists in the set up and delivery of nourishments as needed.
  • Serves individuals, placing food items and eating utensils on tables and maintains standardized portion control.
  • Inventories supplies for menu items and refills as needed. Responsible for communicating to
  • Manager/Supervisor if items are needed. 
  • Cleans, as per work schedule, keeping work area and equipment used in spotless condition.
  • Assists in the preparation and set up of special dietary function requests.
  • Assists in meeting the requests of staff in supplying needed food items or adaptive equipment to the consumers.
  • Keeps dietary records up-to-date (menu record book, etc.)
  • Responsible for knowledge of all diets, portion sizes, and adaptive equipment.
  • Responsible for following all food safety guidelines and employee safety guidelines. This includes     making sure all equipment is used as directed and following established food safety protocols.          
  • Adheres to agency standard of ethical behavior as outlined in the Corporate Compliance Program, the Code of Business Conduct and associated policies and guidelines, and all applicable laws and regulations. 
  • Responsible for assisting in other areas at the site, cleaning and doing laundry, when there is down time in the kitchen. 
  • Performs such other duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor.
  • Adheres to the Personnel Policy established by the Board of Directors and the Policies and Procedures established by the Executive Director.


  • Previous food handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to develop skills in food handling techniques as necessary.
  • Working knowledge of nutrition preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with peers, staff and managers.
  • Ability to participate in group efforts in a cooperative, dependable manner.
